Kinetic Environmental is a modern consultancy providing in-depth, expert planning and resource management services to help see you through your project, whatever the size. Our team takes pride in tailoring our advice to suit the situation, which is achieved as a result of our combined experience gained from the private, public and legal sectors.

CHRISTIAN MCDEAN

Christian has over twenty years’ experience as a planner, having worked the majority of that time as a consultant. He has an astute commercial mind and is known for providing proficient, frank and practical advice. His ever-returning clients respect him for his friendly, honest demeanour as well as his ability to find a solution for any problem, however intricate.
Christian has a keen interest in community and stakeholder engagement and is often called upon to manage complex resource management projects or provide expert planning evidence.
Christian is a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute.

JULIA MASTERS
Senior Planner

Julia has been a planner for 15+ years, working most of that time as a consultant in the Waikato. She has a wide range of statutory planning experience, particularly in the preparation and processing of complex resource consent applications.
Julia is passionate about projects which benefit the wider community and a career highlight was the consenting of the Perry Cycle Bridge which is part of the Te Awa Cycleway. She is also interested in the consultation process and heritage planning.
Julia is known for her strong work ethic, empathy and friendly-bubbly manner. Julia works hard to provide practical and considered advice and enjoys the challenge of finding solutions for her clients.

DANIELLE SINGH

Danielle has been a planner for over 5 years, having started with the Kinetic team as a student in 2018. Over the years she has gained experience in drafting and processing resource consents as well as preparing consultation documentation and liaising with iwi.
In 2021 she completed a secondment to Hauraki District Council in their Duty Planner Role which improved her knowledge in consenting process.
She has an interest in infrastructure planning, particularly in relation to coastal processes and climate change.
Danielle is the secretary of the Waikato NZPI Branch and is an Intermediate Member of the New Zealand Planning Institute.

TIM WILSON

Tim has over 10 years planning experience from both local government and the private sector in the Waikato region.
Tim has a wide range of statutory planning experience, with a keen interest in natural resource management.
He is highly skilled in preparing and processing resource consent applications, compliance reporting, providing resource management advice and stakeholder engagement.
Tim has also been an expert planning witness on several occasions appearing at Council hearings and been involved in Environment Court proceedings.
Tim is a full member of the NZPI.

TIPENE ATAMA

Tipene is currently in his fourth year as a planner, with valuable experience in environmental law. He began his career at the Waikato Regional Council, where he processed numerous resource consents in the coastal and freshwater domains. With a keen interest in the marine environment and freshwater development, Tipene has cultivated a specialised understanding in these areas.
Throughout his professional career, Tipene consistently seeks to expand his planning knowledge and develop a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework governing Aotearoa's resource management system. He is particularly passionate about Te Ao Māori (the Māori worldview) and its place within the planning process.
As an Associate member of the New Zealand Planning Institute, Tipene remains dedicated to staying informed about the resource management reform, further industry developments and best practices.

ROWENA LOUGHNAN
Office Manager

Rowena has a strong administrative background with experience in a range of business support roles. She has gained most of her experience from within the telecommunications industry.
She has a passion for Health and Safety and in 2022 gained her Level 4 qualification in Workplace Occupational Health and Safety.
Rowena is focused on supporting the team and ensuring the business operates smoothly.
She is excited to extend her expertise into a new industry and gain an understanding of planning and resource management.
